LBL (Little Black Leggings)

I picked these leggings up from the pile on my floor because I knew the stretchy material would give me enough leeway to not activate my body dysmorphia. If there's one thing I hate about jeans, it's how sometimes when I bend over and the waistband pinches my stomach slightly, I'm thrown into a pit of low self-esteem for the rest of the day. Waistband sizing, amiright?!

Make sure to shove the pile of unfolded laundry out of the way before taking glamor shots.

Some may say that leggings don't count as real pants. To them, I say that whatever gets me out of the house with all my bits covered counts as real clothing in my book. Throw a cotton dress on over your leggings to make it look like you're trying to dress up, or just pair them with a sports bra and yet another event t-shirt to show you've got nothing to prove (and probably wouldn't have the energy to, even if you did).

Body dysmorphia is common in women and femmes, but isn't limited to any gender. It can be hard to make yourself realize that the image you see in the mirror isn't realistic, especially when your brain is circling your flaws in indelible ink. It can be all-consuming, constantly comparing your body to others'. Never be afraid to seek validation from those who care about you. They'll be more than happy to tell you what hot stuff you are.
